Getting Past the Downpour...

Image
I am almost certain a many of us absolutely relish a rainy day filled with thunderstorms! At least I do. It’s one of my favorites. I love watching the rain drops splashing on the window panes and creating sweet melody. It brings a unique joy to my day and instantly uplifts my mood. Curling up by the fireplace with a cup of tea while it’s raining is my perfect concept for a day off from work.  Although rain and clouds are not the only ones that can bring a downpour, on quite a contrary note sometimes in life we experience a heavy downpour of thoughts and emotions, of past and painful and of difficult situations and events in our present. The thunderstorms are often heavier than the ones we enjoy with a cup of tea and the aftereffects quite devastating. Did You Sharpen Your Saw? Remember the popular story of the frustrated lumberjack? The man shook his head and kept on walking, leaving the lumberjack to his pointless frustration. Do you see any resemblance between the story of lumberjack and your day to day life? Does the...

The Little Joys... "We never get to have any fun!" grumbled my 7 year old son through this broken front tooth & partly swollen lips. The ask was that he wants to enjoy his ice-cream cone with his feet hanging inside the water fountain of the small park conveniently located by the cross streets of our home.   Some moments just freeze in time and make their way instantly to the hall of fame in your permanent memory! That was one such moment for me. I will never forget that face, the expression and the immaculate innocence behind it! But what was so special about that moment that melted my heart and transfixed my mind?    Rewinding just few hours back, he had suffered one of the worst injuries till date, falling face down on concrete side walk while riding his bike, resulting in loss of front tooth (luckily a wiggly one), wounded gums and cuts big enough to incur stiches on lower lip and chin. While I was still in kind of trauma from all the stress of s...
