The Art of Being Liquid!  “Do you know we are studying ‘Matter’ in our Science class!” exclaimed my 7 year old pointing towards the glass of water as we were all having dinner the other day.  “Did you know’ he said almost in the same breath, ‘Liquid is flexible!!?’ “Hmmm”, I said, pretending I have no idea what he is talking about, “what do you mean it’s flexible?” He goes, “Meaning it can take any shape you pour it into. So if you pour water in a glass it will take the shape of a glass, if you pour it in a jar instead it will take the jar’s shape, if you fill it inside a balloon it will take the round shape of the balloon!” he continued explaining with a grin on his face and glitter in his eyes.   “Wow!" I said,  "that’s a really great quality of liquid. It is definitely very accommodating and adaptive in nature.” He gave me a broad smile feeling very proud of his explanation. The Mirage! Once in a while, when time takes a pause in the perpetual frenzy of day today, I do take a close look at myself in the mirror. It’s a pause in time to do a brief self-check-in. Time to look myself in the eye and see how it’s been going? How am I doing? And within that one flash, a million thoughts hustle through my mind. Busy thoughts with mixed connotations. I realize there is so much to be said since I checked in last.  I see how every day is passing by and how much value it is or isn’t adding to the unresolved goals of life. How I am running harder and faster every day to reach somewhere and then to get back. How there is so little accomplished in a day and most of it is ‘material’ anyways. How world is in constant flux all the time and how quickly things are changing their perspective and meaning. How the plan to be calm and on terms with self remains a distant reality. How the shining star at the far end of the horizon seems still too far away. How ...
